About You

You’re a dynamic, energetic creative who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves being part of an established team pushing the boundaries of interior design. Organized, resourceful, and endlessly inspired, you bring fresh ideas, a sharp eye for detail, and a can-do attitude to every project. You’re just as comfortable collaborating with senior designers as you are taking initiative on your own tasks, and you know how to pivot with ease as projects evolve.

If design, aesthetics, and shaping impactful interior environments light you up—and you want to work with one of the COOLEST teams in the Bay Area—this role is for you.

The Role

We’re excited to welcome a talented and driven Junior Designer to join our growing team. You’ll collaborate closely with our Principal and senior designers, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to beautifully curated commercial and occasional residential projects throughout the Bay Area.

Your day-to-day will include supporting space planning and design development, assisting with furniture, art, and décor selection, and helping prepare client presentations. You will participate in site walks and installations, coordinate with vendors and contractors to help ensure design intent is realized, and contribute to project timelines through organized documentation and proactive task management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of professional experience in residential interior design or a closely related discipline. Exposure to commercial design projects, particularly hospitality (restaurants, bars), office, multifamily, retail, or comparable environments, is a plus!
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Comfortable working both in the office and in the field, including being hands-on during buildouts.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and adapting in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Positive outlook with the ability to remain engaged and contribute to strong internal team dynamics and positive client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

The position works closely with the Principal, senior designers, and installers and generally works a Monday through Friday weekly schedule with occasional weekends as project needs require. Flexibility during peak install periods may be necessary.

  • Assist senior designers with residential space planning and layout development, while gaining exposure to commercial projects, including restaurants and bars, as opportunities arise.
  • Assist with furniture, art, and décor selection (with sourcing support from expeditors).
  • Prepare and contribute to client-facing presentations, mood boards, and design decks.
  • Incorporate client feedback and internal direction into design revisions in a timely manner.
  • Participate in site walks, walkthroughs, and field measurements to support accurate design execution.
  • Support and coordinate with the vendors and contractor teams to ensure design intent is carried through on site.
  • Communicate clearly with the design team to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Ensure that design documentation, drawings, and visual materials are organized and up to date.
  • Assist in maintaining project timelines by proactively organizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with the Design Director, Principal, vendors, and builders to ensure projects are completed on time and in alignment with client expectations and design agreements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a hands-on approach during installs, helping to problem-solve in real time as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by maintaining a professional, supportive, and solutions-oriented attitude.

Benefits

Health insurance (including medical, dental and vision), simple IRA retirement plan, paid vacation, volunteer time off and anniversary bonuses. This is an hourly role with a competitive pay rate based on experience and qualifications.
